Taking a dive into the 50´s with flower dresses made from secondhand fabric. Some inspirational contemporary music videos to give the feeling.
One fabric down, 3 more to come!
I bought theese blue Italian made shoes secondhand. Fits me perfectly only the heel made from metal was totally worn down and more round then flat.
So I brought them to the shoerepair shop and one week later, -Tha Daa! New heel! Some things are better done by others.
(And yes, I´v just got a new app to play with – Collage maker :) )
I´v been on a break for the last couple of weeks and soon will be back in business! Biggest reason why is cus I´m mooooving! Cant believe how much things I actually have, hidden away in cupboards.
One thing I did before this was this ReDesign project. The dress was bought for a wedding but needed to go from the sharp black&white style to a softer, warmer look.
This is how it looked to start with. With some color remove and textile paint applied by hand with a brush the visual of the dress is totally different.
One lined with dark blue velvet and the other with bright orange velvet.
Good for the animals vs good for the enviroment…..can be tricky.
Fake leather is great cus it means no animal got killed for it but it is made from unnatural chemicals and therefor takes time to be made into compost the day it breaks or you no longer want to use it. Leater however is long lasting and looks even better after long use. It does not harm the enviroment but of corse the animal.
Choosing between what is good for the animals vs what is good for the enviroment can be tricky. So this is my inbetween solution!
I really hate the fur industry and would never go out and buy a new fur coat for myself. However I have a coat from my mother that she bought when she was in her 30´s. I have not used it yet but I consider re-desiging it to stop it going to waste in the attic.
I saved the pockets that was on the coat and lined the bag with blue velvet. There is also enough leather still to make 2 more bags in a slightly smaller size :)
